This is a short evening prayer I wrote some time ago:
In the stillness of the night and the silence of my heart,
Looking back, may I seek forgiveness for the times:
When I have been insensitive and arrogant
When I have not listened properly
When I have ignored the wise advice of others
When I have spoken, when I should have been silent
When I have judged instead of understood
When I have trusted unconditionally
When I have hurt, when I should have healed
When I have failed to hold true to my values
When I have held on when I should have let go
Looking forward, may I continue:
To cheer on those who need encouragement
To admire those who overcome adversity
To see the best in people
To expect challenges and embrace failure
To endeavour to be better
To embrace vulnerability.
To God be the glory, tonight and forever more.
